Instructional Coach

Kip McLeod enters his 38th year in Education.  He has served as a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, alternative school director and principal of both a middle school (5 years at Hahira Middle) and high school (4 years at Hamilton County High School-FL).  He has taught at the middle school, high school and college level.  He has served in Macon, Grady and Lowndes Counties as well as a instructor and coach at Valdosta State University (7 years). Most recently he served as the Principal of Hamilton County High School (grades 7-12) in Jasper Florida. 

As Instructional Coach at Cook High School, he assist teachers with instructional strategies in the classroom, helps with the implementation of the School Improvement Plan and coordinates the School Wide Productive Interventions (formally RTI).  He will also assist the administrative team with evaluations of teachers as well as support the professional learning communities.

He is married to Julie (Jones) McLeod of Lakeland, GA.  Julie works as an Administrative Assistant in the front office at Lake Park Elementary School in Lake Park GA.  They have three children, a physician assistant daughter in Columbus GA, a 21 year old son that is a senior baseball pitcher for the University of West Georgia and a high school senior that plays baseball at Lowndes High School.  He and his family resides in South Lowndes County.
