HOMECOMING COURT SELECTION PROCESS OF ATTENDANTS/REPRESENTATIVES/
QUEEN CANDIDATES
1. FIRST BALLOT FOR ELECTION: Each grade will be given a list of eligible girls from their class. The class members will vote by selecting the name of ONE candidate from their class list.
2. SECOND BALLOT FOR ELECTION: Run-off ballots will then be prepared, listing up to eight names of those receiving the largest number of votes. The election committee, depending on where a natural break falls will decide the actual number on the run-off ballot. For instance, if four girls receive more than twenty votes, and the fifth receives six, there should only be four on the ballot. If there is a tie, it is permissible to have nine or more.
3. CLASSIFICATION FOR UNDERCLASSMEN: Each class member will vote for one girl. In the ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades, the one who receives the most votes in the run-off will be named class attendant and the first and second runners-up will be named class representatives.
4. CLASSIFICATION FOR SENIORS: As with the other classes, the senior class run-off ballot may list up to eight names of those receiving the highest number of votes. From this run-off ballot, five homecoming queen candidates will be named. There will be ONE homecoming queen and she must be a senior.
5. FINAL ELECTION: The entire school will vote on these five homecoming queen candidates prior to the homecoming game. This vote will be conducted during the week of homecoming on the specified date.
